We have carefully selected four masterpieces that beautifully complement the Adachi original frame. In 2025, ukiyo-e received renewed attention thanks to the NHK historical drama UNBOUND, which features the famed publisher Tsutaya Juzaburo. Throughout the year, we at Adachi Woodcut Prints shared various insights on social media and enjoyed this cultural moment together with our audience.

In this set, we have selected four prints that received particularly strong attention in 2025.
First are two portrait prints with mica backgrounds by Sharaku and Utamaro, both retaining a timeless appeal.We also include The Yoshiwara after Closing at Night, which captures a secret meeting in Yoshiwara, with song lyrics floating in the deep black night sky. The fourth work is The Courtesan Segawa of Matsubaya, where Torii Kiyonaga portrays Segawa’s elegant New Year attire.

The natural grain of the Adachi Original Frame with Natural Finish beautifully complements the vivid yet gentle colors characteristic of woodblock prints. For this set, we paired the frame with four flower-and-bird designs representing the seasons. From Hiroshige’s lyrical O-tanzaku compositions, we selected Utagawa Hiroshige “Peach Blossoms and Swallows in Moonlight” and Utagawa Hiroshige “Camelia and Uso.” From Hokusai’s expressive works, which vividly capture the movement of wind, light, and passing time in nature, we selected Katsushika Hokusai “Blossoming Irises and Grasshopper” and Katsushika Hokusai “Chrysanthemums and a Deerfly.”

The combination of the light, natural frame and the softly translucent colors of these flower-and-bird prints creates a refined, contemporary atmosphere that harmonizes beautifully with a wide range of interiors.

The Adachi Original Frame with Ash Brown Finish is crafted from teak and offers a warm, understated presence. Its natural wood tone pairs beautifully with interiors that highlight wood grain, making it a popular choice for both Western-style and Japanese-style rooms.

For this set, we selected four masterpieces by Hiroshige that capture the poetic scenery of Japan throughout the four seasons. Each print showcases rich colors and a distinctive atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy the changing landscapes as if viewing them through a window.

The calm, ash-brown finish of the Adachi Original Frame pairs beautifully with interiors that highlight natural wood grain, making it an ideal choice for both Western- and Japanese-style rooms. The subtle grey tint of the wood also harmonizes exceptionally well with blue tones.

For this set, we selected four outstanding designs from Katsushika Hokusai’s Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji, the artist’s celebrated masterpiece series and one of the greatest achievements in ukiyo-e landscape printing. These particular works are noted for their bold, powerful compositions. Through these prints, you can fully appreciate the masterful skill Hokusai developed over a lifetime—his ability to depict the movement of water, the passage of time, and the elemental forces of wind and air.

The androgynous beauties depicted by Suzuki Harunobu, the pioneer of nishiki-e, are admired for their delicate grace and refined elegance. His masterful use of subtle colors and finely detailed settings infuses each work with a dreamlike, dramatic sense of storytelling.

For this set, we have selected four seasonal masterpieces that allow you to fully appreciate Harunobu’s poetic world. The deep, matte vermilion finish of the frame adds a distinctive touch without overwhelming the artwork, beautifully enhancing the soft, gentle colors characteristic of Harunobu’s prints.
