World-renowned contemporary artists Antony Gormley and Kiki Smith have created original woodcut prints in collaboration with the carvers and printers of The Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints. Drawing on traditional techniques passed down since the Edo period, the project explores new possibilities for woodcut expression beyond the conventional boundaries of the medium. These works were first presented in 2025 at the exhibition Ukiyo-e in Play, held at the Hyokeikan, Tokyo National Museum, where they attracted significant attention.
We are pleased to announce a lottery sale of these original woodcut prints by the two artists.
We are pleased to announce the release of Snow Day, a woodcut print by Kumi Machida. The same composition is presented with four different background colors, demonstrating the expressive range of the print medium.
[Bonus] Everyone who places an order will receive an original Kumi Machida tote bag!
