The Geisha Itsuhana
Most existing works of the artist Eishi are full-length portraits of women. In this print the geisya Itsuhana, with fan in hand, is both neat and beautiful. The black rectangular box on her left contains a shamisen. The almost empty background helps in the creation of this clear and impressive depiction of female grace.
