Robert Lazzarini is an artist known for paintings that deploy the visual effects of moiré patterns, and for sculptures characterized by deformation and distortion. Underlying the optical illusion-like visual intrigue of his work is a critical perspective on American society. Currently based in New York, Lazzarini collaborated with artisans at the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints to produce woodcut prints featuring monochromatic moiré patterns.
